COMMIS CHEF: Best Western Stoke By Nayland Hotel

Stoke by Nayland Resort is looking for a Commis Chef to join its team of talented chefs. We have a growing number of dining outlets, including; the Lakes a la carte restaurant, the Orchard Bar & Lounge, the Sports Bar, our Peake bistro, as well as also being a go-to destination for weddings and events.

Commis Chef Role:

A Junior Chef, or Commis Chef, assists the Station Chef or Chef de Partie in the kitchen. Duties include assisting Station Chefs in meal preparations, rotating stock and receiving deliveries.

Other Duties:

  • Measuring meal ingredients accurately for the Station Chef
  • Plating and presenting food items as per the Station Chef’s instruction
  • Receiving deliveries and making sure that all ordered items are of excellent quality and are delivered on time
  • Preparing basic sauces and salads as directed by the Station Chef
  • Performing basic cleaning duties and sanitising all work stations properly
  • Taking inventory of supplies and informing the restaurant’s Supervisor of depleted or low supplies
  • Disposing of all spoiled or expired food items stored in the freezers, refrigerators and stock rooms
  • Preparing meal ingredients, including seasoning of different meats, as well as chopping, peeling and washing, fruits and vegetables
