Electronics Engineer Role:
An Electronics Engineer, or Electronics Research Engineer designs, maintains and develops electronic products and systems. Duties include building electrical circuits, designing electronics products with computer software and running electrical safety tests on new products.
Other Duties:
- Preparing and presenting designs and concepts for electronic products and systems to colleagues, management or customers
- Drawing up detailed drawings, schematics and models using computer design software such as CAD
- Preparing cost estimates and budget analysis for both management and customers
- Selecting appropriate materials for the development of printed circuit boards and components
- Designing and building electronic components and circuits for use in products
- Keeping up to date on changes in health and safety rules or government regulations concerning electronic work
- Running effective testing and diagnostics that lead to measured product improvements, such as safer interfaces or improved functionality
- Providing progress reports and analytics to management as a project progresses
