As Edinburgh Airport continues to grow so too does the need to continuously improve internal controls, systems and processes and provide ongoing assurance to the Executive Team, Board of Directors, Audit and Risk Committee and other key stakeholders. Edinburgh Airport welcomed a new strategic investment partnership between Global Infrastructure Partners and VINCI Airports in June 2024, reinforcing the need for ongoing assurance, controls improvement and risk management.

IT Manager Role:
An IT Manager, or an IT Systems Administrator, manages the network and server infrastructure of the company. The primary duties are the security of the companys computer systems and electronic data, development and implementation of customised systems and overseeing all computer-related activities.
Other Duties:
- Supervising daily operations of network and server infrastructure
- Aligning IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and goals
- Managing IT budgets, forecast, handling cash flow and enforcing cost-effectiveness
- Evaluating risk, developing network recovery and backup processes
- Assessing and purchasing new and replacement hardware
- Assuring that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes and regulations
- Testing, troubleshooting and adjusting information systems to operate effectively
- Implementing security of the network, data and its storage and communication systems
