Sales Assistant Role:
A Sales Assistant, or Shop Assistant, is responsible for assisting customers and ensuring the smooth transaction of goods in a retail setting. They help customers by answering questions regarding products or services, process the sale of merchandise in the store or online and supervise the regular restocking of the stores product shelves.
Other Duties:
- Serving customers and dealing with enquiries
- Processing cash, card and online payments
- Updating customer records in the companys database as required
- Handling product returns and payment refund requests
- Reporting any inventory or service issues to management and the appropriate Account Manager immediately
- Promoting products based on the companys directives
- Arranging products on the shelves and on promotional displays
- Unpacking and sorting new stock delivery
- Managing product inventory at the store
- Keeping the store clean
